Before receiving your iPad you must set up an Apple ID account. Your Apple ID account must be associated with a valid email account. You may choose to use your Brother Rice email account or use a personal email account. If you have an Apple ID already set up, verify that you can log into your account. It is recommended that if you are sharing an Apple ID account with someone or several people that you create a new Apple ID. If you need assistance with setting up a family account, contact the Tech department for assistance.

Create an Apple ID
Click Create an Apple ID to begin the process of creating an Apple ID account. Complete all fields in the form.
Name
Enter your first and last name.
Apple ID and Password
When setting up your Apple ID, you must use a valid email address. You may choose to use your Brother Rice email account or use a personal email account for your Apple ID.
Enter a password. Remember your Apple ID password! You will be using it often.
Security Questions
Select and answer the security questions. These are used to verify your identity if you were to forget your password.
Date of Birth
Use the your correct birthdate. It creates problems when you enter a date that makes you "under 14"
Rescue Email Address
Enter an email address that can be used to resolve security issues (e.g., forgotten passwords). Best practice is to use a different email address than the one used to set up your Apple ID.
Email Preferences
Uncheck the Apple News and Announcements and New on iTunes and Other Offers boxes in Email preference to avoid getting news/offers emails from Apple.

Manage your Apple ID
Click Manage your Apple ID to verify that the username and password are correct and that the account is active.
Sign In
Sign into your Apple ID account.
If you have forgotten your Apple ID, click Forgot your Apple ID? Follow the instructions to recover your Apple ID.
If you have forgotten your Apple ID password, click Forgot your password? Follow the instructions to recover your Apple ID password.
