Apple ID

Apple ID requirement

Before receiving your new iPad you must have an Apple ID.

Select one of the following:

Already have an Apple ID?

If you have an existing Apple ID, you may reuse it with your Brother Rice iPad. The ID doesn't need to utilize your @brrice.edu email account - a personal email account is acceptable.

If your existing Apple ID is shared by other family members, you must create a new Apple ID.

Confirm your account details

Confirm you know the email address and password of your Apple ID at the Apple ID website. If you cannot login, continue to the next step. If you can login, you are ready to receive your iPad!

Forgotten password

If you were unable to login to your account, you can try resetting your password at the iForgot website.

After entering your email address, you will receive a reset link in that email account or possibly in the account used as a "Rescue" address.

If you are experiencing any trouble resetting your password, contact the Technology Department.

Need to create a new Apple ID?

You need to select an email address for use with your new Apple ID. The address doesn't need to be your @brrice.edu address - a personal email account is acceptable.

Create Apple ID

To create an Apple ID follow the written instructions below or follow the instructions in the Creating Your Apple ID video.

  1. Navigate to https://appleid.apple.com/account

  2. Complete all the form fields

    1. Name: Enter your first and last name.
    2. Apple ID and Password: Apple ID is your email address. Also enter a password and write it down - you will be using it often!
    3. Security Questions: Select and answer the security questions. These are used to reset your password, if forgotten.
    4. Date of Birth: Enter your correct birthdate - including year. (You need to be at least 14 years of age.)
    5. Rescue Email Address: This address is used when resetting your password. If you are creating an Apple ID using a personal email address, it is best to use your @brrice.edu address as the Rescue Email Address.
    6. Email Preferences: Uncheck the Apple News and Announcements and New on iTunes and Other Offers boxes if you want to avoid receiving these messages.

Verify your Apple ID

After you finish registering your new Apple ID, you will receive a verification message in your email account.

To finish the process, you must click the verification link, and sign in for the first time.

If you are experiencing any trouble creating a new Apple ID or finding your verification message, contact the Technology Department.
