iBooks

iBooks is Apple's electronic book format. Currently it is only possible to purchase or view an iBook using an iOS device (iPhone or iPad) or Mac OS X computer. Students who do not have access to one of these devices should wait to purchase their iBooks until they are issued a BRHS iPad.

Which Apple ID to use?

iBooks are assigned to the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. In most cases, this means the student's Apple ID should be used to purchase iBooks. If you would prefer to use the a parent's Apple ID, or would like to share one iBook between multiple brothers, you should setup Family Sharing (link).

What if I already purchased an iBook under the wrong Apple ID?

Don't worry! If the parent's Apple ID was used to purchase the book by accident, setup Family Sharing (link) and the iBook will automatically be available to all other Apple IDs in the family at no additional cost.

How to purchase iBooks?

The most efficient way to purchase an iBook, using your iOS device or Mac OS X computer, is to navigate to the Bookstore Textbook listing and follow the link to the iBook. This will automatically open the iBooks app to the correct iBook. Watch the video below to see this in action:
