Beginning with the 2014-2015 school year all Faculty, Staff and Students have access to Office 365 – an online version of Microsoft's popular Office suite.

Is there any cost for Office 365?

All Office 365 subscriptions for students are free of charge to Brother Rice, while Faculty/Staff subscriptions are paid for by Brother Rice.

Students will receive access to Office 365 while they are enrolled (expiring at the end of June for graduating seniors). Due to the terms from Microsoft, Faculty/Staff will receive access to Office 365 only while employed.

How do I access Office 365?

All Office 365 feautures, including downloadable suite software, are available from http://portal.office.com.

  1. Login at http://portal.office.com
  2. At the top of the page, go to Settings  > Office 365 settings.



  3. On the left of the page, choose the Software tab.
  4. On the Office page, select a Language, and then choose Install.


Note: The Setup files will begin downloading and may take several minutes.

Most mobile devices allow you to download Word, Excel and PowerPoint directly from your mobile app store. For more specific information, follow these steps:

  1. Login at http://portal.office.com
  2. At the top of the page, go to Settings  > Office 365 settings.



  3. On the left of the page, choose the Phone & Tablet tab.
  4. Select your device from the list.

 

How do I sync files between my devices?

Microsoft's OneDrive (like Google Drive) is online storage for all of your Office 365 files.

You can download the OneDrive for Business app here: http://go.brrice.edu/1qFRdSu. Note: the regular OneDrive app does not work.
